Chu-Fang Huang began studying the piano when she was seven. At age twelve she was accepted on full scholarship as the youngest student in the Shenyang Music Conservatory's pre-college division. She made her U.S. recital debut on the Prodigy Series of the La Jolla Music Society at fifteen, soon after moving here from her native China. A top prizewinner of several regional and international competitions she was awarded first prize at the 2005 Cleveland International Piano Competition two months after being named a finalist of the Twelfth Annual International Van Cliburn Competition.

Ms. Huang has performed throughout China, Europe, and the United States, including recitals at Germany's prestigious Klavier-Festival Ruhr, the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Kravis Arts Center in West Palm Beach, and Carnegie Hall's Weill Recital Hall. She has also collaborated with the Charleston, Cleveland, Corpus Christi, Fort Collins, Fort Worth, Pacific, and Sydney symphony orchestras, as well as with the Australian Chamber Orchestra and Shenzhen Philharmonic Orchestras.

three years of concert engagements throughout the United States. This season she performs in Chicago, Washington, D.C., (Kennedy Center), Germany, and Holland in addition to recitals, chamber music, and education programs for Grand Valley State University, the University of Arkansas in Little Rock, and the University of Wisconsin at Eau Claire. In 2005 she made her Lincoln Center recital debut at Alice Tully Hall.

Ms. Huang's performances have been broadcast on New York's WQXR Young Artists Series, National Public Radio in Washington, D.C., andacross the internet by the Australian Broadcast Corporation. She also appears in the film documentary about the Twelfth Cliburn Competition, In the Heart of Music, which aired on PBS stations across the United States and on stations around the world. A recent graduate of the Curtis Institute of Music, Ms. Huang is pursuing her master's degree at the Juilliard School.
